  • Back After a Blogging Break

Sorry for the long dry spell. I had to recharge the batteries after a busy fall and holiday season. Plus, I'm blogging regularly at Internet Evolution, which absorbs a lot of my spare time. I'm now hoping to get back to a regular blogging schedule here at GenBlend. In the meantime, my colleague and co-author Dan Rasmus has a new piece on the ...

  • Generation Blend Amazon Review translated

Recently someone named H.J. van der Klis was kind enough to write a (generally positive) review of Generation Blend on Amazon.com. However, the review is in Dutch. For anyone who might be interested, here is what it says (translation by Willem Heesbeen): Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE ...

  • A Good Day

As a writer, any day you sign a contract for a new book is a good day. So today was a good day. The topic is next-generation leadership. Publication date is probably around this time next year. More details to follow in coming months.

  • Proposal Season

Thin blogging last week because I have been heads-down working on a couple of proposals. The good news is that Wiley and Microsoft apparently want another book, this one on next-generation leadership. I am looking at teasing out some of the concepts from Chapter 6 of Generation Blend regarding ''Generation X-ecutive,'' and will shortly be looking ...

  • New Study on IT Risk and Millennials

Symantec, the IT security company, recently released a study of IT risks posed by the social computing workstyle of Millennials in the workforce. Obviously Symantec is not a disinterested party, but their findings are very interesting and validate many of the observations made in Generation Blend. Among the highlights of the study: 66 percent ...

  • TMI

Tomorrow I am having the first (hopefully of many...) big press event for Generation Blend. My colleague Dan Rasmus and I are meeting with foreign reporters at Microsoft as part of their big Information Worker Vision event, and Dan will be interviewing me on stage for a while until we open it up to Q&A. I've been somewhat nervous about this ...

  • Super Tuesday

Just got word from my editor that Generation Blend shipped early and should be available by the end of the week. Pre-order pricing at Amazon is about 30% off. Check it out. Update: Someone is checking it out. I started the day ranked 1.7 million on the Amazon sales charts, and as of now (1:45 pm PST), Generation Blend is at 6785 and #43 on ...
